I’ve been a bartender over ten years and have struggled with a common medical condition career bartenders are often faced with. As a professional driver I’ve had stiffness and pain in my back that I’ve accepted as part of my profession. Most of the topical products I’ve tried to manage my pain either don’t work well or for very long. Menthol based products have too harsh of a smell for my clients and require reapplication too often. In our local forest, there is a tree called the “Santa Lucia Fir”, that only grows in the Big Sur mountain region of California, nowhere else in the world. We have respectfully created a relationship with these rare and unique stands of trees and thus the name “Santa Lucia Salve Company”. This tree is like a mascot, for us, in that it’s a unique terpene (sap) array is similar to those found in hemp and other plants like sage. We honor and respect the medicines that come directly from nature, like sharing a beautiful gift.
